Riley’s Asphalt recently completed a 45,000 square foot private driveway project in Parker. As a trusted driveway contractor in Parker, we work on everything from residential driveways to large private roads and ranch properties throughout the area. This driveway serves a rural property that sees regular traffic from horse trailers and other heavy vehicles.

The driveway had developed rutting in several areas from years of horse trailer traffic. To correct those low spots, we first installed a scratch layer. This thin layer of asphalt is used to fill ruts and uneven areas, creating a smooth surface before the final paving lift is placed.

Once the scratch work was complete, our crew returned to install a new 3-inch asphalt surface across the entire driveway. The project was completed over three days and required just over 520 tons of hot mix asphalt.

We did experience a minor delay when the asphalt plant temporarily went down, but the interruption was short-lived and had little impact on the overall project schedule.

The finished driveway provides a smooth ride throughout the property and is built to handle the demands of daily traffic, including horse trailers and other heavy vehicles. The property owner now has a new asphalt surface that improves both the appearance and functionality of the driveway.
